instagram: january - june 2014.

Hello, y'all!

Sorry for the hiatus. Life has been pretty crazy. June was full of traveling, celebrating, and time well spent with family and friends. I'm just recovering from all that's been going on and now life seems to be back to normal.

I've been meaning to do this for awhile, but I wanted to share some of my favorite photos from my Instagram feed. You can follow me @stephmikamo :)

I've been trying to take out more well-thought photos before posting them onto Instagram. It's been cool having something in mind before taking the shot, and also choosing which one to post. I don't think I'll be that popular on Instagram anytime soon, but I'd like to post more images. :)

keller ever after.

Hello!

Apologies about the lack of updates for two months, (to my faithful 11 Followers of this blog, others, and random strangers that stumble upon here). The months of September and October were full of work, preparing and going to Japan (which I'll be posting photos of later), and weddings (both for work and for friends)! Just because I haven't been posting on here, doesn't mean I haven't been taking photos. ;)

On September 22nd, I had the honor and privilege of attending my dear friend's wedding. You've probably seen her here before in posts past involving Disney princesses, and a year ago with her now-husband. She asked me to take a few candid shots, and detail shots. The wedding was nothing short of magical, and as much as I would have loved to take more photos, I kept on telling myself to be in the moment, and share in the joy of celebrating two lives becoming one.

Congrats, again! And may you continue to have your #kellereverafter. :)

{This one of her dad looking on at Jonathan while he tells his vows is one of my favorites from the night.}

new york wrapped up.

Every time I think about New York, see pictures of New York, or hear that people are visiting New York I give a wistful sigh. Although it was a jam-packed few days, I loved every second of it! I am making it a point to go back to New York again before I'm 30. I think I'll have enough money to make another trip by then. (Ha, right?)

Statue of Liberty. {We only were near the Statue for less than 5 minutes...heh}

parks + museums.

One thing I wish we did more of is spend more times in the parks. I absolutely adored the parks there! A few weeks ago, I had jury duty in L.A. and was assigned to the courthouse right next to Grand Park. I thought, "Oh, surely it'll be as great as the parks in New York!" It was nice, but not the same. :(

Washington Square Park!

I don't have as many pictures from our second day because we went to SoHo and shopped for quite a bit. Heh. :) At night we ate in St. Mark's and had some pretty tasty Japanese food.

welcome to new york!

Hello Friends!

Sorry for the lack of posts as of late; with transitioning into a different schedule and trying to get in the swing of things, I haven't had any time to really edit any photos. Trust me, I have photos to share with y'all. :)

Around this time last month, my good friend and I flew to the East Coast to visit our other dear friend in...

New York Cityyyyy!!

This trip had me fallin' head over heels for this city. I am an introvert (hollah at me, my peeps!) and I thought I'd be scared out of my wits being in such a large city with so many people. The biggest surprise was that I absolutely loved it! I love how there are so many people and the stories that they have, people watching, the history that is seeping from the buildings, and the parks!

We had such a blast getting to explore the city and being such tourists, but the next time we go...we're definitely just sticking to eating and chillin' at the parks. ;)

iphonetoes.

If you consider carrying around a fancy, expensive camera with equally (or even more) expensive lenses, with you at all times makes you a photographer, then I sadly would not qualify. The fact of the matter is that I'm too lazy to carry around gear, and want to experience "the moment" with my family and friends as much as I can.

More often than not, I have my iPhone on me, so I have a camera with me wherever I go! Whenever I'm out  and see a good shot, I try to capture it on my phone. I already really like the 35mm focal length, which is what my phone has, so it's great to always look to sharpen my eye with a lighter camera! :)

I think it'd be cool to post every now and then some photos I take with my iPhone. I'll call it "iPhonetos". It doesn't really make any sense, but it does in my head, so I'm going to go with it. ;)

Here are some from my trip to Napa and San Jose, since I recently posted photos from my DSLR.
