tiffany - uc davis senior portrait.

Everyone, this is my younger sister. Ever since I picked up my DSLR camera at the beginning of college, Tiffany would always be there to model for me. She is so expressive with her emotions (a lot like me) so she'd always be a pleasure to photograph and would emulate her inner America's Next Top Model poses for me.

Although she did a bunch of senior portraits with her friends, she had still wanted me to come up and take photos for her. I'm so incredibly proud of her and how far she's come. She graduated from UCDavis in Environmental Science Management and is set to change the world. Tiffany is generous, compassionate, and has so much to offer people.

Watch out world. My sister is about to do some work. ;)

This street was absolutely beautiful! One of her favorite spots on campus with all of the trees lining the street.

Mmmhmmm. Girl got that 'tude.

boston, ma.

There's something that always gets me about the city.

Maybe it's the sky rise buildings. Or the culture that is just bursting at the seams of every street corner you turn. Or it could be the quick accessibilities of towns through the local transportation. (Something Los Angeles needs to get a move on!)

We stayed with our lovely hostess who showed us around and was a great tour guide. :) I loved getting to eat all the seafood I could see (hehe) and learn a bit more about our American history.

Look, Ma! I went to Harvard! ;)

color run.

I somehow neglected to post any photos from the Color Run I did back in May.

Yeah, that's right. I said it. Run.

Okay, fine. It was only a 5k, but mind you, I hadn't ran in a very long time until that day. (Sad, but just being real here.)

My two friends and I decided to participate in the Color Run. We all had heard about it, thought about it, contemplated it, but never went through with signing up. Since we had each other to keep us accountable, we signed up and went!

The event was such a blast (of color!) and it was exciting being around so many positive people who just wanted to dance to music, throw themselves in colored cornstarch, and "run" around 3 miles. One of our other friends joined us too, making it all the merrier!

I took my iPhone and covered it in saran wrap. For the most part, it kept the color out of my phone. Here are some of the photos I took!

Running in through the second color. We were shocked by how they were throwing color at us for the first one, so we weren't prepared.

Last color!

At the finish line is where most of the fun happened. They gave out one free package of color to throw at each other. hehe.

There was also a DJ pumping music. People were having fun and throwing color in the air! Now that's my kind of party! :)

Woohoo! We did it! :)

I definitely would recommend doing it if you get the chance! Really, it's about throwing away your inhibitions of what people might think about you, being silly, and getting covered in color. Doesn't that sound like fun? :)

See if there's one near you coming up soon here: http://thecolorrun.com/

amherst, ma.

At the end of May, one of my good friends and I visited another good friend of ours in Amherst, MA. This was the first trip we'd been on together in a long time, so it was great getting to travel, explore new places, and make more memories together. It was also fun because we all used to live together during undergrad! :)

We got to explore a bit of Boston at night when we first landed. The first half of our trip was spent in Amherst, MA, where my friend is getting her Masters at the University of Massachusetts. There's something about the universities in the East Coast. I loved how practically all of the buildings were built out of bricks.

But first, MIT.

They look tough here...

but really they're just a bunch of goofballs. ;)

Then the next day was exploring UMass! :)

instagram: january - june 2014.

Hello, y'all!

Sorry for the hiatus. Life has been pretty crazy. June was full of traveling, celebrating, and time well spent with family and friends. I'm just recovering from all that's been going on and now life seems to be back to normal.

I've been meaning to do this for awhile, but I wanted to share some of my favorite photos from my Instagram feed. You can follow me @stephmikamo :)

I've been trying to take out more well-thought photos before posting them onto Instagram. It's been cool having something in mind before taking the shot, and also choosing which one to post. I don't think I'll be that popular on Instagram anytime soon, but I'd like to post more images. :)
