community in tokyo

Continuing with the Japan photos. My goal is to have all of them posted by the end of this month...keep me accountable please! ;)

During our time in Tokyo, we were able to not only spend time with our Newsong family, but we were also able to visit different churches. We visited Rifu Point Gospel church in Gunma, where one of our hosts Jim was speaking at. The church family there was so warm and welcoming, and even though their congregation was small, it felt like coming home to family. :)

hehe, this is the ladies gushing over how handsome Jim's children are. :)

We also had the blessed opportunity of connecting with our Newsong family, but other missionaries in the Tokyo area. Before we left for Ofunato, we celebrated with a good ol' BBQ!

This was a sweet morning. I believe we were leaving to go out into the city, and there was an interview with Happy Bear... :)

I can say that I was truly blessed by our time spent with our hosts and all the people we had the pleasure of getting to know. Being in a foreign country didn't feel so scary when we had such lovely people guiding us and shedding more light on Japan for us.

the proposal -- reuelle & matt.

Another break from my Japan photos. (I promise I'll get through them before the end of the year!!) This break is pretty necessary, though. Trust.

A few weeks ago, my friend Reuelle got engaged!

Months prior to the night, her boyfriend, now fiance, Matt planned for a romantic night under the stars, with stars closer to earth to bring their two worlds together. (teehee) Reuelle is one of my closest friends and we've walked through so much together through college and life after graduation. It's great to be able to share with her in yet another stage of her life! I've been blessed to see the two of them grow together as a couple and seek God's will in their life. I was fortunate enough to be able to snap a few photos of what happened that night.
